The whole trip has beautiful views that can be enjoyed rain or shine. We also loved the museum in the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty, telling tales from immigrants who arrived many years ago, and showing a giant bronze replica of the statue’s foot.

There are several tours you can take at the Budweiser Brewery, ranging from a free one-hour tour (with full free beer!) to an in-depth day-long experience such as the Beer Master Tour. The complimentary tour is great and lets you walk through the Clydesdales’ stables, visit the Beechwood aging cellars, and see the giant mashing tanks. Afterwards you can choose a free beer (cider and gluten-free beer are available) to enjoy in the Biergarten with soft pretzel sticks & beer-cheese dip ~ you know, it’s all about healthy choices in the midwest! No matter, there is no better way to immerse yourself in the local culture!
The Anheseur-Busch Brewery has an incredibly rich family history. During the years of alcohol prohibition, Anheuser-Busch diverted their manufacturing efforts to making items like ice-cream and sodas in order to stay in business over those 13 years! When prohibition was repealed on April 7th, 1933, August A. Busch Jr. surprised his father with two hitches of Clydesdale horses that were used to deliver the first cases of beer out of the gates. Dalmatians became the company’s mascot in 1950, chosen as guard dogs because of their black and white spots which made them more visible during twilight.
One of the best parts of the tour is returning to the Biergarten where you can redeem your wooden token for your choice of a free pint from the very large selection on tap.
Nothing goes better together than beer & baseball, and where better to enjoy them than the heartland of America, where American style lagers first began!
For drinks with a great view of the Gateway Arch, visit Cielo’s amazing patio on the 8th floor of the Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis. For a somewhat more lively atmosphere, 360-STL (The Three Sixty Rooftop Bar) atop the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark takes evening cocktails to new heights with sweeping panoramic views.
