\n\t\tThe vegan BLT you have been waiting for. Also known as a TLT. Add a little avocado, and you’re on your way to a magnificent TTLA.\t<\/p>\n

Vegan Tempeh Bacon<\/h4>\n
    \n
  • 1 package tempeh (8 oz or 227 g)<\/li>\n
  • 2 tsp liquid smoke<\/li>\n
  • 4 tbsp. tamari or soy sauce<\/li>\n
  • 2 tsp maple syrup<\/li>\n
  • 1\/4 tsp paprika<\/li>\n
  • 1\/8 tsp cumin<\/li>\n
  • 1 tsp oil for frying<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Toast<\/h4>\n
      \n
    • 4 slices artisanal bread<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      BLT Fillings<\/h4>\n
        \n
      • Just mayo (vegan)<\/li>\n
      • handful of lettuce leaves<\/li>\n
      • 1 ripe heirloom tomato (sliced)<\/li>\n
      • 1\/2 of a ripe avocado (sliced (optional))<\/li>\n

        Vegan Tempeh Bacon<\/h4>\n
          \n
        1. Slice the block of tempeh into 4 1\/2 inch thick slabs.<\/li>\n
        2. Marinate the tempeh in liquid smoke, tamari, maple syrup and spice mix for 10 minutes, turning pieces halfway through for an even marinade.<\/li>\n
        3. Heat frying pan over medium-high heat. Add oil and fry tempeh slabs until browned on both sides about 7 minutes each.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          1. Use your oven broiler or toast your bread until lightly toasted<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
