The Anheseur-Busch Brewery has an incredibly rich family history. During the years of alcohol prohibition, Anheuser-Busch diverted their manufacturing efforts to making items like ice-cream and sodas in order to stay in business over those 13 years! When prohibition was repealed on April 7th, 1933, August A. Busch Jr. surprised his father with two hitches of Clydesdale horses that were used to deliver the first cases of beer out of the gates. Dalmatians became the company’s mascot in 1950, chosen as guard dogs because of their black and white spots which made them more visible during twilight.
